Where is a shrimp’s heart located?

Although shrimps do not have a backbone but they have exoskeletons which provide protection as well as structure for their bodies.

In a quick look, we will say that shrimps are divided into two parts namely head and tail, but there is actually another part known as thorax. Both the head and thorax are covered with exoskeleton.

The shrimp’s heart is physically located at the thorax. But since the head and thorax are near, people assume that shrimp’s heart is located on its head instead. The heart is in tubular form and consists of a longitudinal blood vessel lying dorsally in the midline.[/ihc-hide-content]
