Malaysia secures USD113m through five MoUs at Kazakh Expo 17

Five Memorandums of Under-standing (MOU) were exchanged between Malaysian companies and their counterparts from Kazakhstan, India, China and Switzerland during the “Green Innovation, Powering your future” Expo.

 

The five MOUs exchanged among Malaysian companies include Ronser Biotech, iCYCLE Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Free the Seed Sdn Bhd and Nanopac Sdn Bhd valued at more than U$D113 million.

Ronser Biotech, an organic waste water treatment company exchanged MOUs with MEC LLP and KazBiotechnologies worth U$D3 million.

MEC LLP has appointed Ronser as the exclusive representative to distribute Wastewater Treatment Solutions product and services in target of U$D20 million in three years in Kazakhstan and Central Asia.

The system is responsible to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as well as to provide alternative power resources and cleaner environment.

KazBiotechnologies signed an MOU with Ronser for treating sewerage.

iCYCLE Malaysia Sdn Bhd exchanged MOUs worth U$D250,000 with representatives from TianHe, Guangzhou and Kerala, India.

iCYCLE is a developer of a recycling waste management system that enables members to recycle for a sustainable environment and collect points to be exchanged for cash and shopping coupons or donations to welfare bodies.

The system provides solutions of waste separation and recycling, which deals in online waste management applications and solutions from the source, and is sponsored by Multimedia University (MMU).

The counterpart from Guangzhou offers to develop a Chinese version of the application and the joint venture in India is for licensing in-kind.

The MOUs were signed to operate iCYCLE’s high technology recycling system in the Tianhe District and Cochin City respectively.

Free the Seed Sdn Bhd, a manufacturer of a biodegradable packaging company made from rice husks and straw as an alternative to polystyrene and plastic containers has exchanged an MOU worth U$D30 million with Nusantara LLP and is expected to be realised in two years.

This bio-based company has highlighted the use of Malaysia’s native resources, such as rice, to raise the country’s green innovation.

Nanopac Sdn Bhd inked an MOU with GC Global Consulting GMBH promotes Nanopac’s Nanotechnology and Hybrid Solar System technologies in residential and commercial projects  worth over U$D60 million.

The project which ventures of Nano Light Energy Panel (NLEP), Nano Photovoltaic (NPV) and Self-Sustaining Toilet System (SSTS) is expected to be realised in three years.

The business matching session which has formed collaboration in bio-based and innovation projects between Malaysian companies and foreign companies from Kazakhstan, India, China, and Switzerland was organised by Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI).

Among the other companies that showcased their products and services at Expo 2017 were: Cube Global, a natural forest and forestry management system. Cube Global (Malaysia Commercialisation Year – MCY 2016 winner) will generate income via the ‘SMS to the tree’ service, which enables the tree to reply and certain charges apply as there will be a solution to maintain the tree to generate the income. During Green Innovation Week, Cube Global connected with Nazarbayev University in Kazakhstan to discuss collaborations.

Muhibbah Synergy Resources (MSR), an engineering and product manufacturer with a core business of producing custom mass production consumer products focusing on Halal and organic products, in line with focus of ‘Enlivening the Sunnah’.

The company connected with Halal Toyiban LLP, who is keen to explore purchasing the company’s My Gigi Cleaner (MYGIC) Pensugi for the 2,500 mosques in Central Asia.

Additionally, Angola is interested to be the sole distributor for the African nations, while a Kazakh company, which is one of the sole distributors to pharmacies and retail stores in neighbouring countries, is interested in MSR’s Prayer chairs for the disabled, MyGIC Pensugi and Attar perfumery.
