THE Malaysian Ministry of Transport and a local firm, Gentle Supreme jointly launched the “Keep Malaysia Safe & Protected” campaign via virtual mode in response to the emerging concerns on safe travel with public transportation during the current pandemic.
The campaign was launched on Dec 16 as an initiative to address the risk of being exposed to the Covid-19 virus through public transportation as 20 percent of Malaysians rely on public transportation on a daily basis.
With an eye towards solving this problem, a brand new household disinfectant spray, WIZACT 24, the world’s first- water based disinfectant that provides up to 24 hours of protection was introduced during the launch.

Using ActizoneTM technology, WIZACT 24 contains a mixture of quaternary ammonium compounds, didecyl dimethyl ammonium chloride (DDAC), and benzalkonium chloride (BAC), that remarkably kills up to 99.9% of pathogens commonly found on surfaces of public transport structures, including coronaviruses.
WIZACT 24 is unique from other disinfectant sprays with its ability to provide protection against germs for up to 24 hours, as it also contains a polymeric coating which helps the active compounds stick to surfaces for extended periods of time. WIZACT 24 is also available as a portable pocket spray and disposable wipes for “on-the-go” usage.
“WIZACT 24 is already being used in 24 major Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) stations in Malaysia”, said Kam Ai Nee, the Head of Marketing at Gentle Supreme Sdn. Bhd. being one of the key speakers in the virtual media launch.
“With rising cases of Covid-19 infections in Malaysia, it is important for us as citizens to know about what we can do to control the SARS-COV-2 virus”, said Dr. Christopher Lee, an infectious disease specialist and President of the Malaysian AIDS Council being a key speaker in this virtual media launch.
He emphasized that the public had made efforts to reduce the risks of transmission through the use of face masks, but more efforts are needed to combat the transmission through contaminated surfaces.
“We can do better as a country, we can do better as a community, and we can do better as individuals”, said Lee, highlighting the significance of cleaning and disinfecting “highly touched” surfaces in transportation hubs.
The campaign also aims to educate the public about the importance of disinfecting surfaces to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 and other pathogens through “highly touched” surfaces, to reduce the risk of being exposed to the Covid-19 virus through public transportation.
