How do nails and hair grow?

Reading Time: < 1 minute

YOU’VE had nails and hair since you were in your mom’s womb. Nails and hair are continually growing yet after you are clipping and cutting.

How do nails and hairs eternally keep growing but our eyelashes and eyebrows are relentlessly not growing.[ihc-hide-content ihc_mb_type=”show” ihc_mb_who=”2,3,5″ ihc_mb_template=”1″ ]

Nails and hairs are both made up of a keratin layer – the protein that protects epithelial cells from damage or stress.

Over the keratin cells, the cells harden and transform into hair and nails. This transformation process is known as keratinisation.

Ever wonder how long do your hairs and nails grow per year. As estimated, hair grows at 7.62 centimetres per year, while nails grow about 3.81 centimetres annually.
